Ultrasound Referrals

Early or Dating is at 8-12 weeks

Anatomy (required) is at 18-20 weeks

Third Trimester (not required unless medically indicated) is at 32-34 weeks

Bio Physical Profile (highly recommended if you have not had your baby by 41 weeks) just after 41 weeks unless medically indicated earlier

We have several options for ultrasound referrals. Just let us know where you would like to go and we will submit a referral for you. Their office will reach out and schedule an appointment for you.

If you are using private insurance or self pay:

Dallas Obstetrics & Gynecology 3801 Gaston Avenue #325 Accepts most private insurance and the most affordable self pay options all under $200. Sonograms are reviewed by our consulting physician Dr Deborah Fuller OB/GYN. This is our top recommendation. Their sonographer is typically in on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Touchstone & Envision (various locations) Accepts most private and state insurance. They have more flexibility with appointment times. This is a radiology center so they do not specialize in OB ultrasounds. A radiologist reviews all sonograms.

Obstetrix Maternal Fetal Medicine Group (various locations closest inside Baylor Medical University Center) Accepts most private and state insurance. We refer clients here if they need to be co-managed by an MFM which is a High Risk OB or we need follow up on something *possibly seen in another routine ultrasound.

* Ultrasounds are a great tool but also subjective. So it’s not unusual to possibly see something that requires follow up with a higher level physician and everything is perfect when we get that second opinion. As midwives we want to be sure you and baby are low risk for a safe out of hospital birth!

Self Pay Only:

Moody Diagnostics (various midwifery practices and birth center locations throughout the DFW area, closest with our friends at Dallas Birth 3301 Elm St Dallas 75226) $200-$300

Sarah Rodulfo (occasionally is in Ennis, other locations in Ft Worth) affordable $95-$185

Non-Diagnostic: You do not need a referral for these. You may book an appointment directly. Self pay. While we don’t encourage a large number of unnecessary scans we see the value in easing fears with an early sneak peak. Or wanting an early gender reveal. Early Scans, Gender Reveals, 2D-5D & 8K realistic view. $69-$169 + optional ad ons. Little Bellies has been incredibly kind to our families and we are happy to support them!
