Here are some tips and tricks to get your home ready for your home birth!

First you will need to purchase a homebirth kit from in his hands: *You may purchase these items separately from a different website but please be sure to get ALL of the items in the kit* In His Hands Custom Kit

We have also made an Amazon wishlist of things that may be useful to have at home

It’s helpful to make sure these items are organized so we can find them easily. We also recommend packing a bag ahead of time if there is a need to transfer.

If you are wanting to utilize a birth pool here are some websites that offer birth pool rental or purchase:

Please note you and your partner will be responsible for setting up and taking down your birth pool. We are happy to start draining it after your birth but you will need to be sure you or your partner are versed in setup and take down.

Now to getting your house ready:

*Make sure you have adequate space for you and your birth team to move around freely.

*Place a waterproof cover on your bed incase your water breaks in your bed, as well as helping protect your mattress from birth fluids if you birth in the bed, as well as the immediate postpartum. We recommend making your bed with sheets you don't mind getting messy, place the water proof cover on top, then make it again with another set of sheets you don't mind getting messy.

*We will need a flat surface near the planned birthing area to set up our equipment, it does not need to be a large space, usually the top of a dresser or TV stand is enough.

*The drop cloth will be for under the birth pool to protect your floors.

*Make sure you have towels you don't mind getting stained, we have added some cheap ones to the amazon list if you do not have some at home you are willing to have used.
